Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, all pets must be up-to-date on vaccines. For dogs, Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella are required. Canine Influenza, Leptospirosis, and Lyme are optional.

For cats, this includes Rabies, Feline Distemper, and Feline Leukemia.

Please provide a record of your pet's current vaccinations, as we will keep up-to-date information in our system and advise of any coming due. Any pets that have had vaccinations and are now over the age of 10 years will not be required to be re-vaccinated unless otherwise advised by the veterinarian.

Each vaccine is significant to the health and safety of your pet, other pets, and our staff. If you would like more information on each vaccine and what exactly they are about, please ask a member of our staff for details.

Please be on time for your pet’s appointment. We schedule a reasonable amount of time for each pet, and delays may run into another client's appointment, and we want to be fair to everyone so as not to have to rush.

We are NOT a daycare center. We expect owners to drop off their pets on time and pick their pets up on time. We do understand things come up preventing owners from dropping off or picking up as scheduled; in these situations, please call and advise our staff how long it will be. If they ARE left for an extended period, owners will face an additional fee. If owners are late dropping their pets off, they may have to wait for the next available time slot or be asked to reschedule.

If any owner does not show up for a scheduled appointment and does not notify us after the second time, they will face an additional fee at their next appointment.

Although you may have the world’s most trained dog, others may not. Keep a leash on your pet at ALL times. We are on a very busy street, and if your pet gets loose and runs out of the shop, they may get hit by a car. We are NOT responsible or accountable for any owner’s irresponsibility to keep a leash on their pet.

There may also be another pet in the shop that does not like other dogs or people; keeping your dog on a leash is the only way to prevent any issues from pets not liking one another. Again, if something should happen, our staff is NOT responsible or accountable.

If you know your pet may have aggression issues or a history of biting other groomers, please make our staff aware of it before your appointment. This way, we can properly manage your pet and prevent any problems that may arise no matter the severity, and we can alleviate any injury to our staff, your pet, and yourself.

If your pet has any fleas or parasites, please see your veterinarian and treat them before bringing them in for grooming. Fleas are very hard to keep under control once there is an outbreak. Although we do everything we can to prevent it, we understand sometimes these little critters get the best of us.

Parasites must be treated with medication. There are many different types of parasites, ranging from intestinal to dermatologic. Most are contagious and Zoonotic, which can be transferred to humans. If something seems “off” with your pet, it is better to postpone the grooming and have it checked by your veterinarian to prevent any further contamination. Please notify us before your pet's grooming appointment if your pet has any fleas or parasites.

Grooming By Brandy shares property with other businesses. If your pet disposes on the premises, YOU are responsible for cleaning it up. Bring a poopy bag; if you do not have one, we will be glad to provide you with one, and there will be a garbage can to dispose of the bags properly.

Many diseases can be spread through feces, and proper disposal and cleanup of the feces right away will prevent any germs, disease, or parasite from contaminating our facility. We don’t want anyone stepping in it either, regardless of being considered “good luck.”
